Lula Belle Rochester, age 86 and a life-long resident of Jackson County, passed away in her home surrounded by family on November 2, 2022. She was born on October 15, 1936, to the late, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Cabe Frady and William Thad Frady Sr.
Belle married Alvin "Junior" Rochester and they were happily married for many wonderful years. She enjoyed participating in church. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dillsboro. She also loved gardening and raising her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Belle is survived by her loving husband, Alvin; daughters, Evelyn Burch (David Sr), Barbara Anders {Jerry), Elizabeth Hill (Stanley}; brother, William Thad Frady Jr (Sue); sister, Polly Martin; grandchildren, David Burch Jr (Becky) , Jamie Burch, Penny Hill Taylor (Zachary); great -grandchildren, Daniel Burch, Mason Wyatt Taylor, DaKoda James Taylor, Sadie Lee Smith, Brantley Radder, Blake Radder; special friends, Louise Hill, Kathy Stiles, Dee Estes, Paulane Jones; and many other beloved friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzy and Thad, brothers, Bud and Carl, sisters, Alva, Edna, Eula, Helen, Mary Sue, and son-in-law, Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM–2:00PM, on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, with a Funeral Service at 2:00PM. Revs. Tommy Ashe and David Burch, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
