Lisa Gaye Chastain, born on August 19, 1966, in Jackson County, was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. On December 18, 2023, Lisa passed away in Sylva, NC, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit.
Lisa led a life filled with joy and passion. She found solace in tending to her flower garden and was renowned for her green thumb. The vibrant colors she nurtured brought happiness to many. Additionally, Lisa had a unique talent - she could drive a tractor like nobody else! The open fields and the quiet solitude brought her immense joy and peace.
A lover of nature, Lisa embraced the outdoors with open arms. She would often venture into the wilderness with friends and family, taking long hikes through scenic trails or camping under the starry night sky. Her adventurous spirit inspired those around her to appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
Family meant everything to Lisa. She treasured every moment spent with her daughter, Samantha Ramey and husband, John. Lisa delighted in being a doting grandmother to Nevaeh Guffey, Carter Guffey, and Falyn Ramey. Their laughter filled her heart with immeasurable joy. Lisa's sister Deb Ray, along with her husband Chris, and her brother Keith Chastain, accompanied by his wife Diane, provided unwavering support and friendship. They celebrated life's joys and stood by her through every challenge. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Standing by Lisa's side for 25 years was her partner, Joe Condroski. Their love and support for each other were unwavering throughout the years. They shared a deep bond that brought them strength and happiness.
Preceding Lisa in death, her sister Becky Chastain Reeves held a special place in her heart as they shared countless priceless memories together. Her parents, Lyman and Betty Jean McNeely Chastain, were not only loving but instrumental in shaping Lisa into the exceptional woman she was.
Lisa will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her genuine love for others, zest for life, and adventurous spirit have left an indelible mark on our hearts. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember the joy she spread, the laughter she shared, and the light she brought into our lives.
