Linda Mills

Linda Mills, age 68, of Sylva went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was born June 17, 1943 in Waynesville, NC. She is the daughter of the late Garrett and the late Edna (Caldwell) Hill. She was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Hill, and one brother, Keith Hill. Linda was a member of Moses Creek Baptist Church. She was an outstanding cook and spent many long hours lovingly fixing meals for shut-ins and the elderly in her community. Cooking was her way of showing love and caring. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ned Mills; one brother, Jack Denton Hill and wife Jean of Waynesville; a special friend, Alonzo Dills of Sylva; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service remembering Linda will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1, 2011 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Earl Holden and Rev. Roger Stewman officiating. The family will receive friends one prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ochre Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Norman, Tony Mull, Glenn Mathis, Floyd Parris, Troy West, and Gerald Conner. Memorials are requested to the Ochre Hill Cemetery Fund, 8 Allison Cove Road, Sylva, NC 28779
