Linda Fiskeaux, age 62, of Sylva died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Fiskeaux was born August 2, 1951 in Oconee County, SC. She is the daughter of the late Alvin and the late Betty Ruth (Thomas) Popham. Linda was a devoted wife, mother and nanny. Homer and her were married during her senior year of high school. She visited homer in Alaska while he was in the Military. They lived in Nashville, TN and worked at Krispy Kreme to help put Homer through school. She was treasure for the Savannah Fire Department. She liked where she worked and considered her co-workers close friends. She loved to cook and work in her flower garden and she attended New Hope Baptist Church. She loved watching hummingbirds. Nanny loved her boys and watching them play Sports and was proud to their achievements.
She was employed at Western Carolina University as a Business Officer for Facility Management.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Homer Fiskeaux, and one son Daniel and wife Kim Fiskeaux of Sylva, and one daughter Donna and husband Mike Greene of Burnsville, NC; two grandsons Jacob and Jared Fiskeaux, and one aunt Virgie Foster of Anderson, SC.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev Mike Moore and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday evening July 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greens Creek Cemetery.
