Lewis Edward (Eddie) Davis, age 63, of Cullowhee died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Memorial Campus of Asheville. A life long resident of Jackson County, Eddie was born August 12, 1950, the son of the late Ben Lee and the late Helen (Mashburn) Davis, III.
He was employed as a truck driver by Parker Paving. He never knew a stranger and loved telling stories and jokes. He loved his dogs and being outdoors. He was a member of the Speedwell Baptist Church. .
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Nancy (Thomas) Davis, Eddie is survived by a son, Tommy Davis; a daughter, Susan Davis Fortner; a sister, Martha Davis; a special cousin, Bill;; grandsons, Brady, Nolan, Ryan, Kyle, Jerrod and Cody; grand-daughters, Megan, Katie, and Alli; a great grandson, Treyson, an aunt, Nancy Browning, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held 8:00 pm on Friday, March 28 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with Rev. Johnny Norris, Rev. Larry Bryson, and Rev. Tommy Holden officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28 from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services And Crematorium, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC.
