Leona "Toni" Mills Bradley

Leona Juanita "Toni" Mills Bradley, 76, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27th. She was born in Jackson County on November 2, 1947 to the late Charles and Mollie Davis Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Sue Noone, Leroy Mills, and John Mills. 

Toni is survived by her husband, Lyman Dowdy Bradley; her daughters, Stacey Rhodes (Robert) of Spartanburg, SC and Maria Wingard (Jason) of Columbia, SC; twin grandsons, Bradley and Bryan Rhodes, also of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving are her siblings, Mary Dalton (Hunter) of High Point, and Bryant Mills (Celia) of Fayetteville, GA.;  and brother in law Ray (Joanne) Bradley of Sylva and sister in law,  Joyce Stewart of Franklin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Toni was a 1966 graduate of Sylva-Webster High School and attended Log Cabin Elementary School at Barkers Creek. She also attended Western Carolina University and was co owner of Bradley Packing Company.

Toni said her biggest accomplishments in life was raising her two girls. She loved taking them to dance classes and dressing them up in pretty dresses and bows. She was a great wife and partner, working on the farm, wrapping meat, and supporter of Dowdy. She enjoyed her entire family tremendously, planning family reunions and the Cousins club. She enjoyed keeping up with the Royal family and current events. Toni also loved traveling, listening to gospel and country music and clogging.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 30th in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening November  29th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Old Savannah Baptist Church Cemetery.
