Lawrence Richard Gardner

Lawrence (Larry) Gardner, born February 6, 1945, went on to be with his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2023 after complications from a recent stroke. 

Larry received significant training in electronics during his four years in the US Air Force and subsequently started his own computer company, General Software Systems (GSS). After a successful career, he retired as President of GSS and moved to his beloved mountains in Sylva, NC. In his active retirement, Larry and his wife Jenni started and ran TM Web Design, serving small businesses here in Western NC. He also volunteered as a faithful driver with Jackson County Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, often driving two routes a day. Additionally, Larry served as a Guardian Ad Litem for several years. 

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Jennifer (Jenni) Gardner, his daughter Leah Gardner of Greenacres, FL, his son Scott Gardner, daughter in law, Amy Owenby Gardner, grandchildren Liam and Oliver Owenby, and his grandson Lawson McClain Gardner, all of Asheville, NC, his sister Pat Page of Woodbine, GA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

His remains will be laid to rest in a small private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers please raise a glass in toast and donate your time or money to a worthy cause.
