Laverne Sofia Tollie

Laverne Tollie, age 75, of Sylva passed away Friday, May 1, 2015. Laverne was a life-long resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Nora Lee (Frady) Gregory. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Tollie, a sister, Eula Mae Frizzell and a brother, Ed Gregory. She is survived by two sons, John Tollie and Jim, and wife, Lois Tolley, all of Sylva; two grandchildren, Jody and Matthew Tollie, and three great grandchildren; a brother, Burlus Gregory of California, and various nieces and nephews. Lavern enjoyed visiting with friends, eating out, and going flea-marketing. Her funeral will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services on Monday, May 4, at 10:00 am with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating, burial will follow in East Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, May 3, from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC. . .
