Laura "Boomie" Leigh Mason

Laura “Boomie” Leigh Mason, 38, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

She was lovingly known as “Boomie;” many lives were touched during her time on Earth. Boomie was the daughter of Chuck Mason and Tammy Holder-Brown. In 2018, she met the man known as her “Pops”, David Brown; her Pops hung the moon. They were two peas in a pod.

Boomie endured a lot within her lifetime, but she could light up a room with her smile. If Boomie liked you, she would take you by the hand and led you to the “pudding cabinet.” If she felt uncomfortable around, you then she would take you to the door. Either way she was never shy to let you know how she felt.

She is reunited in Heaven with paternal and maternal grandparents Charlie and Helen Holder, Max Mason, and Diane Martinez; two nephews Dante and Nikoli Maldonado, and great-great grandparents Glenn and Francis Scruggs.

Left to cherish Boomie’s memory are her father Chuck Mason, loving Mother Tammy Holder-Brown and her Pops David Brown; sisters Britini Maldonado (Joey) and Bridget Deal (Bryce); brothers Jesse Brown (Brandi) and Chad Kenney (Lairyn). Boomie also leaves behind a special uncle Larry Holder, aunts Faye Shuler and Wilma Lambert, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, Boomie will be missed by two amazing women Rachel Woodlief and Krystal Smith, who made her beach vacations memorable.

A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2pm at Tuckasegee Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating; a graveside service to follow at Lower Coward Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Krystal Smith, Rachel Woodlief, Kevin Holder, Jesse Brown, Joey Maldonado, and Kelly Winters; with honorary pallbearers Mason Arkansas and Emilio Maldonado.
