Joyce Ann Beasley

Joyce Ann Beasley, age 78, of Sylva died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital of Sylva , NC. Mrs. Beasley was born September 23, 1937 in Haywood County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Lloyd and the late Annie (Crawford) Shuler. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, David Jones; her first husband, MSGT Bobby O. Jones; and three sisters, Willie Shuler, Gaye Grasty, and Faye Hannah. Joyce was a hairdresser. She was a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church; she taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the choir. She loved to see the elk, loved to fish, loved Gospel music, and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband: Jim Beasley; a daughter, Karen Cody and Buddy Taylor of Sylva; a son, Greg Jones of Charleston, SC; and a grandson, Johnathan (Janna)Cody of New Jersey. A funeral will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at the Buff Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Fish officiating, with burial following in the Addie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services. .
