Joseph Emmett Atkins

Joseph Emmett Atkins Jr, 73, Of Waynesville, NC passed away Saturday September 12, 2015. Born in Augusta, Ga and longtime resident of Western North Carolina. He was the eldest son of The late Joseph and Rhoda Atkins. He is survived by 3 daughters - Jacqueline Saavedra, Dianne Wright, and Karla Atkins and 2 sons- James Atkins and Adam Atkins. In addition Mr. Atkins is survived by his 11 grandchildren - Steven Redford. Rebecca Redford, Kaitlyn Wright, Kayla Wright, Jacob Schnell, Dakota Atkins, Cameron (Beau) Saavedra, Madison Sullivan, Maya Hill, Catiyah Giger, and Sean William Alexander Atkins. Mr. Atkins is survived by 4 brothers- Thomas Atkins, Harris Atkins and James W. Atkins Of Hephzibah, Ga. and Allen Atkins of Shreveport, La. and a sister - Mary Harris of Augusta, Ga. Joseph Atkins was an honorable member of the United States Air Force, and a career professional truck driver. Services will be held at 11:00 AM September 18 at the Atkins-Winters Family Cemetery in Hephzibah, Ga. . .
