Jonathan Alexander Zachary

Jon Zachary, age 75, of Cashiers, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20th, 2022. Born December 5th, 1946, he was the son of the late Howard and Alberta Zachary. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his eldest brother James Zachary.

Jon was a photographer by trade and hobby and a wonderful singer, songwriter, guitar & banjo player. He dearly loved the NC mountains, his family & friends, and a good story. 

Jon is survived by his daughter Millie Zachary Smith, married to Justin Smith, and his three grandchildren, Grayson, Finley, and Everett of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his sister Juliet Zachary DeMarko of Pensacola, FL, and his brother Mark Zachary of Cashiers, NC. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 26th at the Cashiers United Methodist Church to celebrate Jon’s life. He will be laid to rest in the Upper Zachary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:45pm prior to the service at the church.
