Jonathan Andrew Hisey

Jonathan (Jonny) Andrew Hisey, age 38, died January 23, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.  He was born August 15, 1985, in Canton, Illinois, the son of Mel and Juli Hisey.  He married Sarah Short on October 10, 2020.  

Jonny graduated from Cypress Lake Center for the Arts in Ft Myers, Florida. He attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Orlando, Florida.  Jonny was employed by the Chef's Stage at Harrah's Cherokee Casino.   He was most recently employed as a Sous Chef at Western Carolina University.

Jonny loved to cook for everyone, travelling, and music.  Game night will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.  He especially loved his two dogs, Athena and Atlas, but was devoted to his wife Sarah and his son Ethan.

In addition to his wife and son, survivors include his parents , Mel and Juli , Sarah's parents, Rukh and Krishna, siblings of Sarah, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jonny was preceded  in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Frances Dennis and Mel and Dora Hisey.

A Celebration of Life will be April 20, 2024 at a yet to be decided location in Jackson County North Carolina
