Johnny Michael Cunningham

Johnny Michael Cunningham, 69 years old, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2021. A native and life-long resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Bonnie and Weaver Cunningham of Dillsboro. In addition to his parents, "Mike" was preceded in death by his son Derrick Cunningham; brother, Jim Cunningham; and sisters, Mary Sue Gulino, Linda Snyder, and Shirley Ashe.

He is survived by his life-partner and best friend, Nancy Powel; his brothers, Bob Cunningham (Pat) and Tom Cunningham (Linda); his daughter, Nicole Middleton; three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a retired house painter and building contractor.

The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for their many acts of kindness while caring for Mike.

Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC, has been entrusted with Johnny's cremation arrangements. No services are planned.
