John (J B) Farmer, age 68, of Sylva died Saturday, February 9, 2013. Mr. Farmer was born October 11, 1944 in Jackson County, NC. He is the son of the late Daniel and the late Lucille (Frizzell) Farmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and James Roy Farmer. J B loved bowling, golfing and fishing. He was a former employee of the F&P Supermarket in Sylva and was employed at Western Carolina University with the facility management division. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma Dills Farmer; one sister Janie Farmer of Sylva; nieces Katie and Daisy Buchanan and Kari Dills; a nephew Zach Buchanan, and an aunt, Carrie Frizzell of Lexington, NC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 12 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva with the Revs. Roger Stewman and Eddie Stillwell officiating. The Family will receive friends Monday Feb. 11 from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers will be Terry Ashe, Greg Dills, Ed Lawson, Alvin Farmer, Paul George Farmer, Howard Keener and Jim Buchanan. . .
