JoAnn Rhinehart

JoAnn Rhinehart, age 69, of Sylva, NC, passed away on Saturday March 5, 2022. She was the wife of Jim Rhinehart and the daughter of the late Harley and Georgia Lewis. 

She was a graduate of Sylva Webster High School and retired from Western Carolina University. She lived her life as an unselfish, unconditionally loving woman. With a touch of grit and grace, Joann enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending time with family or enjoying a sunny day. She loved farm animals and her boxer bulldogs. 

JoAnn is survived by her husband of 50 years; Jim, her son; Jody (Beverly), her daughter Megan (Jax), three sisters; Frances Hall (Charles), Alva Houston (Fred), and Gail Cagle (Mark), one brother; John Lewis (Carolyn) , and one sister-in-law; Susan Lewis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother; Bud Lewis and one sister; Mary Sue Lewis. 

A private family ceremony is being planned by the family with burial following in the Stillwell Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Jerry Evans will officiate.
