Jimmie Ray Moore, 76, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at home on Friday, January 30, 2015. Mr. Moore was born in Sylva, NC on February 2, 1938. He was the son of the late Jesse and Bessie Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clyde. He is survived by his loving wife, Elfriede, sons, Robert and wife, Sharon, Barry and wife, Suzyette, two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin, Glen, Clerance, Jack and Albert and sister Marthalene. He proudly served in the US Army for twelve years doing tours in Korea, Japan, Germany and on the US Army Pistol Team. He owned and operated Jim's Automatic Transmission Service in McAdenville for 20 years and worked for Freightliner in Mt. Holly for five years before retiring. The family would like to give a special thanks to Gaston Hospice, especially to nurse, Heather, CNA, Betty and CNA, Angel from Stress free Health Care. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Friday, February 6, 2015 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel. A graveside service and interment will be held 2 pm Saturday, February 7th at the Old Field Cemetery – 97 Steeple Rd., Sylva, NC. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice – PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054 The arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia. . .
