Jesse Ray Melton, 87, of the Little Canada Community in Tuckasegee, was called home Monday October 9, 2017 after a brief illness. A native of Jackson County he was the son of the late Walter and Lona (Mathis) Melton. Ray was a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons and was an avid cattleman and farmer. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Susie Broom Melton

4 Great Grandchildren- Mance Gilder, Mattie Morgan, Wyatt Melton and Harper Melton

Graveside Services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday October 12 at Melton Cemetery in Tuckasegee with the Rev. Jason Broom officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the Graveside Service at Appalachian Funeral Services. Pallbearers will be Mance, Greg, Tony, Ricky, Bobby, Travis, Zack and Jason
