Jay Lee Potts

Jay Lee Potts, 86, passed away on Wednesday the 13th day of December 2023. He was born on April 12,1937 to Julie Bell Messer Potts and Wilkes Potts. 
Jay Married Dorothy Bryson Potts on the 15th of February 1967. Lee was a very hard worker who had many jobs hi-lighted by his trucking and coal mining careers. 
Although his life started and ended in the mountains of North Carolina, Jay lived in South Carolina, Ohio, Wyoming, Alaska and New Mexico. Lee loved his country and with family members in tow they traveled and vacationed in many locations. 
Lee loved his family, maintaining his vehicles, fishing, traveling and playing his guitar
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Ralph, Joe, Robert, Earl and Charles and his sister Mary Charping, grandsons; Kevin Martinez and Keith Kinard
Lee is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, 
His Children; Karen Kinard, Vickie Chavez, Eddie Potts and Katie Griffith
Grandchildren; Lisa Dunkin, Adam Chavez, Christian Chavez and Aleyanna Potts

Funeral Services will be held 2;00 PM Sunday December 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home.
