James Sistare

James Andrew Sistare, 33, passed away in a Buncombe county hospital on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 after a brief illness. A native of Sylva, he was the son of Janice Mills Lane of Sylva and the late John Michael Sistare. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and had a heart that was bigger than he was. He was a great father, brother, and devoted son. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter Savanna Sistare of Sylva and her mother, Julie Naegler; his son, James Andrew Sistare, Jr. of Sylva, and his mother, Elizabeth Sistare; one brother, John Michael Sistare of Cashiers; a grandmother, Ludy Heater of Monroe, NC; two nephews, and extended family in Phoenix, Arizona. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the chapel of Appalachian. Rev. James Dorter will officiate. Burial will be in Old Field Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
