James Edward Shephard

James Edward "Butch" Shephard, 69, of Sylva, passed away Tuesday September 20, 2016. A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Helen Shephard. He worked in Dodson Brown Cafeteria at Western Carolina University and he loved to fish. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Shephard and by his sister Mary Jo Allen. He is survived by 2 sisters- Kathy Coleman of Canton and Annie McDonald of Sylva Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends Saturday October 1 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services . .
