James Lee "Jim" Rickman, 86, of Whittier, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening June 7, 2022. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Paul and Sarah Dills Rickman.
Jim retired after 21 years of service as Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and was an Ordained Deacon. He was an avid fisherman who loved flowers, gardening, his family, and his Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, and will be missed by all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son; Jerry Rickman, brothers; Jack, Bill, and Tom Rickman; sister, Geneva Giles, granddaughter: Jenelle Stancin and granddaughter ; Jenine Rickman
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Rickman; daughter, Kim Hamilton (Jesse) of Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Norman Rickman of Edneyville, NC; daughter, Brigid Stancin (Russell) of San Pedro, CA; sisters; Carolyn Lewis (Johnny) of Sylva, Jean Worley (Steve) of Sylva; grandsons, Josh (Caroline) Rickman, Jeremiah Rickman, Daniel (Bethany) Fountain, James (Carmen) Fountain, and Joseph (Olivia) Fountain; granddaughter, Shantelle Stancin; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday June 17, 2022, at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, with the Pastor Mickey Duvall officiating. The Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till 12:45 prior to the Service, in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
