James Lyndon Hayes

James Lyndon Hayes, 76, of Sylva, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Macon Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

James lived most of his life in Jackson County and was a son of the late Frank and Nora Enloe Hayes.  He was a man of many trades such as serving as a bank manager and was the Administrator of Skyland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for 27 years.  James was a United States Army veteran.  He enjoyed shooting his guns but most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Hayes and three grandchildren, Scarlett, Kane, and Jasmine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Harris officiating.  Burial will follow at Thomas Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
