Wade Ammons, 85, of Cullowhee, passed peacefully away Sunday morning July 16, 2017. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, Wade was the son of the late Henry and Nora Claybo Ammons. Wade was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church and had retired from Dayco Corporation after 33 years of service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, sitting on his front porch watching the birds and squirrels and was a very witty gentleman who had a great sense of humor. He was loved by all that knew him. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Bumgarner Ammons, a brother Jimmy Ammons and a sister Madge Coggins.
He is survived by 4 daughters;
Maxine (Eddie) Stillwell of Sylva, Judy (Randy) Pazera of Whittier, Peggy (Eddie) Cope of Sylva, Donna (Carl) Scott of Sylva.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday July 19 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Tim Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
