Ida Mae Holden

Ida Mae Holden of Sylva died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Mrs. Holden was born December 26, 1943 in Jackson County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Roy Lee and the late Swannie Arizona (Mills) Jones. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Earl Holden, two sisters; Bell Cogdill and Betty Wilkes and four brothers; Annas, Guy, John and Noel Jones. Mae loved her flower garden and her grandchildren. She worked as a bookkeeper for her family's trucking business. She is survived by her husband: Rev. Earl Holden, one daughter Robbie and husband Tommy Sutton of Sylva and one son Joe and wife Crissy Holden of Sylva as well as two sisters; Mary Hall and Billie Jo Buchanan of Sylva. Five Grand Children and one Great grandchild also survive. A funeral service will be Thursday August 7, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Dr. J.D. Grant officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home before the service.
