Huguette M. Stephens, 83, a resident of Skyland Care Center in Sylva, passed away Sunday December 17, 2017. A native of France and a resident of Jackson County for over 40 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who was known for her love of life, Elvis and John Wayne. She left a loving impression with everyone she met. One thing she will be remembered for was her survival and tales of the German occupation of France in her childhood. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Chantal.
She is survived by;
Daughter- Isabelle Koskot of Tuckasegee
2 Sons- Steve Stephens (Nancy) of Cullowhee
Ed Stephens (Tammy) of Cullowhee
13 Grandchildren- Jordan, Olivia, Lacey, Devon, Dustin, Abigail, Blake, Makylie, Tariona, Zoey, Emmalynn, Cindy and David
Brother- George (Annette) of France
And an extended family in France as well also survives
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday December 26 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Mike Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Special thanks to the staff at Skyland Care center that became family to her and provided excellent care to her during her stay there.
