Herbert Charles Forbes

"Todd" Herbert Charles Forbes, age 68, of Sylva died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at home in Sylva. Herbert was born October 18, 1947 in Conway, NH. He is the son of the late James and the late (Jones) Forbes. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed as a cook at Mountain Trace Nursing Home. He enjoyed woodworking and loved riding his bike. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 22 years: Karla (Pfirrmann) Forbes; his children, Brandon and Christine Forbes, Brooke and Casey Buchanan, Eric and Paula Forbes, and Carrie Rivenbark; grandchildren, Cadence, Makayla and Kamdyn Buchanan, Harper Forbes, Austin Rivenbark and Evann Forbes; and a brother, Jimmy Forbes. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Services from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday, November 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with final expenses. . .
