Helen Mary O'Connell

Helen Mary O'Connell, 80, of Cashiers passed away Saturday September 10, 2011 at Highlands Cashiers Hospital. Mrs O'Connell was the proud former owner of Mica's Restaurant in Cashiers, She was an accomplished jet pilot, boat Captain, Business Woman, avid reader, wife and mother and was known as Lady Helen, and was a true lady to the very end. Her accomplishments are too numerous to mention. She was the daughter of the late John and Jospehine Machules and was also preceded in death by her brother John. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Retired Brigadier General John A. O'Connell ( Jack ) 3 Children- Barbara ( Steve ) Falowski Thomas ( Christine ) O'Connell Karen ( Dr. Brian ) Van Camp 3 Grandchildren- Jason, Patrick and Kristin 2 Brothers- Phillip ( Eileen ) Machules Joseph ( Linda) Machules 1 Sister- Johnna Leiter And her loyal companion- Mitzi Services will be conducted privately by the family.
