Helen Dean Moorhatch

Helen Dean Moorhatch, age 88, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. A retired real estate broker, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Florence Hobbs. 

Helen was born and raised in Burlington NC and later moved to Michigan.  She loved to golf and she was crazy in love with her cats Jordan, Baby and Simba.

She leaves behind her 3 children, Susan Dunn, William Hollifield, John Hollifield; grandchildren, Jerri (Don) Gilbert, Wendy Wheat, Sean (Tiffany) Dunn; special great grandson, Jacob (Taylor) Wheat.  She also has many great grandchildren that she adored and great great grandchildren that she loved as well. Also many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Moorhatch in 2016; and her dear brother, James Edward Hobbs in 2018.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on a later date in Alamance County, NC and will be announced at that time. 

Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC is serving the family.
