Harold Carl "Red" Trantham

Harold Carl (Red) Trantham, age 67 of Sylva NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 26, 2021. He was born in Jackson County, on November 7, 1954, to the late Phillip and Mary Bell (Wikle) Trantham. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Rosie Mathis Trantham; brothers, Odell, Tom, Paul, and Wayne Trantham; sister, Fannie Mae Thompson; and four infant brothers.

Carl was self employed as the owner of Sheep Laurel Association. He loved to fish and loved his church. He was a member of the Cashiers Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are two daughters, Kristie (Craig) Burrell, Tina (Scotty) Petit; sisters, Elizabeth Bennett, Frankie Nell Johnson; brother, Ray Trantham (Debbie); grandchildren, Trevor (Kim), Cheyenne, Jayden (Kayla), Shawna (Corey); great grandchildren, Brently, Liam, Kinsleigh, Katum; sisters-in-law, Ida Trantham, Beverly Morgan, Carolyn Trantham, Arlene Trantham; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, December 29, 2021, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM, Thursday, December 30, 2021, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Revs. Dennis Burrell, Caleb Kelly, and Roger Luker, officiating. Interment will follow at Mathis Cemetery, Tuckasegee NC.
