Harold Wilburn Gribble of Sylva, NC, went home to meet his Lord & Savior on February 29th, 2024. Harold was born August 3rd, 1946, on East Fork Road to Wilburn Gribble and Geneva Buchanan Gribble Cogdill. Harold graduated from Sylva-Webster in 1964. After graduation, Harold joined the Army National Guard and spent his career as a surveyor for the NCDOT. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his stepdad Delos Cogdill, brother Paul Gribble, sisters Patsy Womack, and Louise Monteith, and nephew Delos Monteith. Harold was a lifelong and faithful member of East Fork Baptist Church.
Harold always had a smile on his face, was a friend to many, and loved by all who knew him. He was an avid hunter and had a love for all things outdoors. Above all, Harold loved his family well. He left a legacy in each of them that will live on for generations to come.
Harold spent the last 28 years with the love of his life, Anita Glasgow. Harold and Anita enjoyed days on the front porch, gardening, hunting, and piddling.
Harold is survived by his two sons and grandchildren; Craig (Pam) and their children, Jeana Cooper (Harper), Myka Reppert (Jake & Kallie), Chase, and Keaston; Brian (Corina) and their sons Caydon, Sawyer, and Elijah. Harold is also survived by his nephew Kevin (Ramona) Monteith and their children Jacob, Paige, and Alan. Harold loved nothing more than spending time with his boys; they brought great joy to his life. He was loved and adored by his family for being a man of God, a loving son, father, and Papaw.
The Family will receive friends from 5:00PM- 7:00PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC. Services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 4, 2024, at East Fork Baptist Church. Harold will be laid to rest at East Fork Baptist Cemetery, Sylva NC.
