Harley G Sellers, Jr 84 of Sellers Rd, died Wednesday July 24, 2024, at Harris Regional Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and served in the National Guard and the US Air Force. He was a member of Scotts Creek Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Harley, Sr and Vergie Sellers. He was preceded in death by his daughter Becky Lee Sellers and sister Glenda Adams.
Harley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon, and 2 sons Doug Sellers (Sally Williar) of Indiana, Everett Sellers (Elisa Farmer) of Sylva, and daughter Deanna Miller (David) of Asheville. One brother Jim Sellers (Sue) of Sylva and two sisters, Mary Ellen Allen (John) of Waynesville and Gail Buchanan (Tommy) of Brevard. He was Papaw to 7 grandchildren. Jonathan Sellers (Mandy) of Colorado, Kyle Sellers (Karen) of Indiana, Colt Miller (Laura) of Canton, Madison Miller of Asheville, Coleman Sellers (Kassidy Coggins) of Cullowhee, Brady Sellers of Cullowhee, Brayson Sellers of Sylva.
He was Papaw Harley to 2 Great Granddaughters, Hallie and Evie Mae. Harley loved fishing, hiking and family reunions. He enjoyed Sunday lunches with all the grandkids. He coached Jackson County Football and Baseball for over twelve years. He was a big Smoky Mountain Football fan and enjoyed Monday Night Football.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, Sunday July 28, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
