Harford Earle Knowles

Harford Earle Knowles, age 92, of Sylva died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Sylva, NC. He is the son of the late John and the late Gertrude (Plass) Knowles. Harford loved gardening, woodworking, and landscaping. In addition to his parents, Harford was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Audrey Marion (Clamp) Knowles, and four brothers, Bryant, James, Robert, and Ronald Knowles. Mr. Knowles was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired flight engineer for American Airlines. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Mechling of Cullowhee, two sons; Bradford Knowles of Canton, Ga., and Craig Knowles of Woodstock Ga., one brother; Jack Knowles of Ca, and two sisters; Harriet Wilson of Michigan, and Shirley Pickard of New York. 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren also survive.
