Gregory Stephen Baxter

Gregory Stephen Baxter, beloved son, husband, and brother, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2023, in Buncombe County. He was born on June 7, 1961, in Santa Barbara, CA. Gregory's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him but also serves as a reminder of the joy and love he brought into the world during his time with us.

Throughout his life, Gregory was known for his unwavering dedication to his hobbies and interests. As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he cheered passionately for his favorite team through thick and thin. He found immense joy and solace in following their triumphs and tribulations on the field. Additionally, Gregory had a deep affection for animals and was an avid animal lover. His compassion extended not only to domesticated pets but also to various wildlife conservation efforts.

Gregory's warm heart and loving spirit were best captured through his relationships with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with those closest to him. Gregory leaves behind his devoted wife Debra Clontz Baxter, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. His father Bill Baxter of Wilmington NC played an integral role in shaping him into the compassionate man he became. Gregory cherished every moment spent with him.

He also held an exceptional bond with his stepmom Mari. Her love provided a guiding light throughout Gregory's life.

In addition to sharing an unbreakable bond with his immediate family members mentioned above, Gregory leaves behind four brothers, each of whom held a special place in his heart: Robert (Sandy), Erik (Cherry), Andrew (Lauren), and Brady (Sarah). Their shared memories and adventures will forever be treasured. Gregory possessed a unique ability to bring laughter and joy into any room, and he undoubtedly influenced the lives of his six nieces and six nephews, as well as his great niece.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother Karen Krieger.

Gregory Stephen Baxter leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. His vibrant spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. While this loss weighs heavily on our hearts, we take solace in the profound impact Gregory had during his time with us. As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember him for the joy he brought into our lives and the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
