Granville Enos Wilson

Granville Wilson, 78, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, after a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Cullowhee in Jackson County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late T.C. and Lela Trantham Wilson.

Granville was a member of Cullowhee United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, ACC basketball, watching NASCAR racing and listening to country music. He also loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Granville was preceded in death by his brother, R.O. Wilson (Ruth) of Cullowhee; sisters, Azalea Wilson of Charlotte, and Elease (D.C.) Landreth of Etowah.

Granville is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hilda Taylor Wilson; sons, Gregory E. (Carrie) Wilson of Mooresville, and Matthew L. (Kristy) Wilson of Cullowhee; two grandchildren, Zack Wilson of Cullowhee and Lauren Wilson of Mooresville.

Granville retired from Lance Snack Foods after 30 years of service as a District Sales Manager.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services at 12:00PM, Saturday, July 1, 2023, with the Rev. David Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM - 12:00PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery on Cullowhee Mountain Road.
