Glenda Lou Floyd, 81, of Sylva, passed away Thursday September 21, 2023
A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County she was the daughter of the late Glen and Ethel Nations.
A Member of Buff Creek Baptist Church, she was a very talented pianist, who loved country music. She enjoyed quilting, crafting and gardening and also enjoyed riding around , being outdoors or shooting her guns. But what she cherished the most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother; Charles Glen Nations Jr., her sister; Nadine Sheehan, and her granddaughter; Haley Amanda Floyd.
She is survived by;
Her Son; Michael Floyd of Sylva
Her Daughter; Kerri (Oscar) Maddox of Alabama
4 Grandchildren; Mitchell (Alyssa) Maddox, Michelle Maddox, Bethany Maddox and Andrea Floyd
2 Great Grandchildren; Remington and Silus Maddox
Sister; Patsy Webb of Anderson, SC
Her Faithful Friend; Walter Monteith
numerous nephews and nieces also survive
A Graveside Service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday September 24, 2023 at Addie Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 Sunday prior to the Graveside at Appalachian Funeral Services.
