George Hershel Frady, Jr.

George H. Frady, Jr., 74, of Sylva, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late George H. Sr. and Leva Harris Frady. He was a NASCAR fan and a member of the East Fork Baptist Church. He was employed by Dayco Southern and then worked for and retired after 23 years from the NC DOT. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by one brother, Leon Frady. George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sallie Parris Frady. He is also survived by two brothers; Arnold Frady and his wife Martha of Sylva and Paul Frady and his late wife Doris of Sylva, and one sister; Gladys (Alfred) Melton of Sylva. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, December 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Dietz and Dennis Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
