Gail Brooks Allen of the Barkers Creek Community, a beloved mother and grandmother went to her heavenly home on December 10, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Brooks and Helen Bradley Brooks and her husband of 61 years, Lindon Allen. She is survived by her children Sheila Jamison (Doug Mitchell) of Whittier and Kent Allen (Monique) of Waynesville; grandchildren Michelle Payne, Jordan Allen (Amanda), and Kaleigh Allison (Josh) all of Sylva; great-grandchildren Myles Turpin, Blaine Steely and Ransom Allen of Sylva; and siblings Doris Brooks (Clark Clayton) and Maudie Phillips (Jerry) of Whittier, John Brooks (Linda) of Winston Salem, and Nancy Blanton (Delos) of Gaffney, SC.

She retired from Harris Regional Hospital after 25 years in the billing and registration office. She was a dedicated member of Rockdale Baptist Church, where she served as Treasurer for almost 38 years.

The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home on Friday, December 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Gail will be buried at Rockdale Cemetery following a service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14 at Rockdale Baptist Church. The Reverends Kevin Brooks and Mike Farmer will officiate.
