Fred Lane Parker, 88, of Sylva, North Carolina, was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of over forty years, Helen B. Parker, on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Fred was also reunited with his parents Lawrence and Laura Parker, brother Charlie Glenn Parker and his wife Marian, and brother-in-law Leonard Hoyle.
He was an outdoors enthusiast, who was known for going out of his way to find a peaceful, secluded area to enjoy his fishing. Fred was an avid hunter, especially for deer. He was a hardworking individual who spent most of his adult life working in the Timber industry as a logger. When he was not outside, he could be found listening to bluegrass music on the front porch or reading his Bible. Fred was of the Baptist faith.
Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his loving daughter Judy Biddix, grandchildren Mandie Riley and Freddie Riley (Amethyst), and many great and great-great grandbabies. In addition, Fred leaves behind his siblings Georgia P. Hoyle and Bobbie Ray Parker (Shirley) and several nieces and nephews.
Fred loved his family and will be dearly missed by all.
A funeral service for Fred Parker will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services; a visitation will be available one hour prior. A graveside service will be at Middleton Cemetery on Dark Ridge Road in Balsam, NC.
