Fred H. Nations

Fred Nations, age 78, of the Barkers Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2022. He was the husband of the late Judy Nations and the son of the late Odell and Lottie Nations.

He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Rockdale Baptist Church for many years. He was retired from Farley Enterprises. Fred loved fishing with his grandsons and dearly loved his family.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Nations; and two sisters, Sue Lovedahl and Jane Buchanan.

Fred is survived by one son; Keith (June) Nations; four grandsons; Cody (Ashley Eyler) Nations, Tanner (Trenna) Nations, Dustin (Elsie Buchanan) Nations and Hunter (Hannah King) Nations; one sister, Linda Gass and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two special caregivers, niece, Tammy Jones and Wendy Moody.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Sylvester Nations Cemetery with Revs. Eugene Ridley, Cale Stancil, and Bobby Downs officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Farley, Brett Farley, Randy Bryson, Danny Buchanan, Chad Crowe, and Evan Clawson with Bill Nations and Virgil Lambert as honorary pallbearers. 

In addition to flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Rockdale Baptist Church Building Fund at 2 Rockdale Road, Whittier, NC 28789.
