Francis Vinson Cabe

Virginia Frances Cabe  (August 15, 1938-February 8, 2024)

Virginia Frances (known as Frances) Cabe 85, went to her heavenly home on February 8th, 2024. She was born in Macon County on August 15, 1938.

She was well loved by her family and by lots of people in the community. Her kind and loving personality was felt by all, especially by the kids she served in the lunchroom at Smoky Mountain High School, for 40 years. She would give anyone the shirt off of her back, and was one of the most giving and humble women you would ever meet.

She enjoyed outings with her friends, especially shopping and dining out. She also loved spending time with her daughter, Katrina Parris,  granddaughter Ashley Parris Hull, and great-granddaughter,  Gabriella Quinn Hull. She also enjoyed walking, cleaning, and being kind to stray cats. She also loved spending time with her sister, Carol, and being at family gatherings, where she would always bring her famous potato salad.

She's proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Owen Cabe, her parents June Vinson and Mrs. Vinson of Macon County. She is survived by her daughter Katrina Cabe Parris (Kenneth Lee Parris), granddaughter, Ashley Parris Hull (Jason Hull), great-granddaughter Gabriella Quinn Hull, sister (who affectionately called her Sisseroo) Carol Vinson Corbin (Tex Corbin), nephew Brian Corbin, and niece Missy Corbin.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday February 15, 2024 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Josh Hyde officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Otto, NC.
