Ervin Eugene Parris

Gene Parris,74 of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on March 1st, 2024 after a long battle with Altzheimzers. He was born in Sylva, North Carolina in 1949 to Earl Parris and Rosa Sellers.

He graduated from Sylva-Webster High School in 1967 and served in the US Air Force. He had a long career in the finance industry, retiring from Bank of America in 2013.
 
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and is survived by his wife Christine Casale, his children, Rhonda Chastain (Kristin) and Eric Parris (Brea) and his grandchildren Madelyn, Jacob, and Jameson Chastain and Ethan Parris.

Gene always had a smile on his face and was loved by everyone that knew him. He loved his children and grandchildren immensely and the time spent with them was always treasured. He and Chris had such a sweet love, he was her southern gentleman. He was able to live out the last 11 years of his life in Florida, which was always his dream. He will leave such a void in our lives.

The family will receive friends at 1:00PM - 2:00PM on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, NC, with Funeral Service following at 2:00PM. Gene will be laid to rest at Old Field Cemetery, Sylva NC.
