Elaine Greene

On Oct. 27, 2024, Elaine Queen Greene gained her heavenly angel wings. She passed away peacefully at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Earlie and Essie Queen of Sylva. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her sisters, Madge Queen, Maxine Queen Cunningham, Jeanette Queen Vance and her brothers, Robert, Hayes, Harold and Charles Queen.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill Greene of Westminster, S.C.; daughter Glenda Franklin Gainor of Cullowhee; stepdaughter Maria Sizemore of Dothan, Ala.; granddaughter Amie Gainor Snyder (Paul) of Franklin; great grandson Kobie Brooks of Sylva; sister Sandra Queen Hedden (Bruce); brother Jerry Queen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine enjoyed cooking and collecting new and different recipes. She always had a smile on her face for everyone. She had a great love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful prayer warrior while she read her Bible daily.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at East Sylva Baptist Church, a visitation will be held at 2pm. The family will honor and celebrate Elaine's life at 3pm following the visitation.
