Earl Allen

Earl Allen, Jr., age 62, of Sylva died Friday, July 4, 2014 at Med West Harris of Sylva, NC. Earl was born April 24, 1952 in Sylva, NC. He is the son of the late Robert and the late Martha Jean (Bryson) Allen Jr. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Allen Jackson and a son, Derrick D. Allen. He worked as a carpenter. He loved fishing, basketball, family and friends, especially his grandkids. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Sylva. He is survived by one daughter, Lisa S. Brown, three grandchildren, Donterrious M. and Dalisia K. Brown and Cais J. Johnson; his ex-wife Brenda C. Borders; brothers, David, Danny, Charles, and William "Jed"; and sisters, Liz and Lynn Allen. A funeral service will be held at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Stevie Bryson officiating.
