Douglas Leon Vanassche, 69, passed away Monday morning August 13, 2012 in Sylva, NC. A native of Michigan he had lived in Buncombe County the last 32 years. He was the son of the late Leo and Marion Vanassche. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Ann Collins Vanassche 1 Son- Justin and his wife Carol Vanassche of Sylva 1 Granddaughter- Jessica Leigh Vanassche 2 Sisters- Marilee Vanassche and Marie Brockmueller 1 Brother- Christopher Vanassche A Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 1, 2012 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services.
