Doris Theresa Painter

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Theresa Painter, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Doris went on to be with our Lord, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Doris enjoyed the challenges of a good puzzle and loved singing as she adored the company of her family who she found dear to her heart. While each family member held a special place in Doris’ eyes, her lap was reserved for her two favorite companions, her dog Ozzy and cat Bit. 

Doris was preceded in death by her father, John Coward and her mother, Laura Bell Wardell as well as one grandchild, Jordan McKinzie Clawson.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Painter; daughter Belinda Clawson; son Brian Morgan; stepson Travis Painter; grandchildren Makayla Clawson (Wesley), Shelbi Clawson (Brandon), Shanlie Morgan, Hunter Morgan, step grandchildren Lee Burns (Kat), Jaxson Painter and one great grandchild, Clayton Ingerick.

There will be a graveside service on February 13, 2025, at 2pm, at Parris Cemetery in Sylva, NC with the Reverend Carl Stepp officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Lee Burns, Travis Painter, Brandon Loy, Wesley Styles, Dale Robinson and Michael Robinson.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Skyland Care Center for a new transport van.
