Dominick Gerard Escudero, 61, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend — known for his big heart, quick wit, and ability to talk to anyone.
Dom was born in 1964 and was a chef by trade and a storyteller by nature. Whether he was belting out Meat Loaf in the car (despite being tone deaf), telling a tale with his classic Jersey accent, or misnaming restaurants just to mess with his brother-in-law, Dom kept everyone laughing.
He was grumpy and generous, stubborn and soft — the kind of guy who’d complain the whole time but still show up, help out, and ask what else needed to be done. He loved 80s rock, competition in the kitchen, and feeling needed.
Dom was also a devoted family man who loved his wife more than anything. He was the best husband anyone could ask for — endlessly loyal, deeply loving, and always ready to do whatever it took to make her smile. He loved his children-in-law like they were his own, with the same pride and affection he gave his biological kids.
A master of dramatic road trips, Dom once drove directly over a trash can like it wasn’t even there. He could sleep anywhere, in any position, and once saved his stepdaughter from a bee attack by tossing her into a creek — a moment that summed him up perfectly: practical, protective, and hilarious.
Dominick is survived by his loving wife, his sons, stepdaughters, children-in-law, three cherished grandchildren, his sister, his nephews and nieces — along with countless others who were lucky to know him. Dom, we’ll miss your stories, your heart, and even your made-up names. Rock on.
