Denise Diane Martinez

Denise Diane Martinez, 68, of Tuckasegee, passed away December3, 2023, after a  brave battle with cancer.

Denise was born in Trinidad, Colorado, to Nick and Lucia Saiz on January 22, 1955.  She grew up, lived, and worked in the Denver area until she moved to Tuckasegee in 1995.

Denise was very creative and loved to paint, but her real passion was the outdoors.  She was happiest when she was working in her gardens, planting flowers, weedeating, and raking leaves.  You would also find her collecting rocks any time she could.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Lane, and her two dads: Nick Salz, Sr. and Edward Lane. 

Denise is survived by her large biological, extended, and blended family.  She was a wife of 40 years to “her Honey”-Mark; Mom to Jordi, Crystal, Kim, Jen, and fur baby Peedy; Grandma to Trevor, Marcus, Jayden, Jimmy, Daniel, Willow, Orin, and fur baby Bonnie; Sister to Nick (Susan), Linda (Steve), Cheryl and Jennifer (Rob); Aunt to Terry, Cassie, Leslie, Dawn, Nolan, and Amy; and Friend to all who met her.

She is dearly, dearly missed.
