Dee Allen Ensley, a dedicated individual who spent his career at Ensley Electric Company in Sylva, has sadly passed away. Born in Jackson County in 1937, Dee served in the U.S. Navy before joining his family's electrical business. Known for his strong work ethic and passion for fixing things, Dee eventually became the owner of Ensley Electric Company in 1980 until his retirement in 2010. His commitment to the oldest electrical company in Sylva is a testament to his dedication and love for his work.
Outside of his profession, Dee had a variety of interests including gardening, deer hunting, fishing, and an overall love for the outdoors. He was described as someone who enjoyed staying busy and always found joy in working on different projects.
Dee will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joan Beck Ensley; his daughters Deborah Lynn Brown (Randy) and Karen Dee Ensley (Kenneth); his grandchildren Jordan Brown and Payton Brown; his sister Linda Ensley Queen; as well as niece and nephews Terri Lynn Queen, Timothy Queen, Tim Bumgarner (DeDe), and Jeff Bumgarner (Tracey).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Dee Ensley and Myrtle Davis Ensley; stepmother, Willa Mae Painter Ensley; and his brother-in-law, Charles Queen.
In remembrance of Dee Allen Ensley's life, a Graveside Service will be held at 2:00PM, on February 20th, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY). His contributions to his family, community, and country as a U.S. Navy Veteran will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
