Dean Bentley

Shirley “Dean” Bentley, 69 of Greer, SC, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. Dean was born on August 7, 1952, to the late Georgette Henriette Felicie Gilbert and James Edwin Bentley in Macon County, GA.

Dean enjoyed fishing, karaoke, and taking trips out west with his brothers on ATVs. He was a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church in Campobello, SC.

Dean is survived by his fiancée, Beverly Ann Siggers of Greer, SC; daughters, Brandi Ford Johnson of Greer, SC, April Denise Whitney of Easley, SC, Deana Jean Chappell of Easley, SC, and Amber Lee Bentley of Greer, SC; son, Travis Joshua Elmore of Campobello, SC. Eleven grandchildren, one on the way, and four great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his brother Ransey Ray Bentley Sr.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Preacher Terry Rainey will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
